"I've been working with Jeff since 2016, both as a peer and as an editor, and he's been a great collaborator in either capacity. He always completes drafts in a timely manner, is open to and accepting of notes, and always supports and encourages the ideas of others."
Krissy Howard | Managing Editor @The Hard Times
If you grew up going to punk rock shows, skateboarded, or played in bands, you'll get the comedy of the Hard Times. The Hard Times is like the Onion's weird cousin who dresses in black and smokes cloves. With 410k+ followers on Facebook and an audience of 710k+ on Instagram, they have a huge audience that appreciates its niche comedy.
We've all lost things along the way in our romantic lives, and this satirical article pokes fun at those of us (this author included) who wonder just what happened to them. Jawbreaker, the band this article is about, even reposted this on their social media which was definitely a high point of my writing career.
Along with writing for the Hard Times website, I also contributed four articles to their book The Hard Times: The First 40 Years published in 2019 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. This book was voted one of the best books 2019 by the popular indie music website Pitchfork.
